[ it's a lot to pay attention to and keep track of, but in the end they're both a little too high to not make clumsy little mistakes. he leans in for a kiss when reki tries to nuzzle, a nuzzle for a nose boop, a laugh for a soft smile, vice-versa. but it's all so wonderfully them at the same time that even the little mistakes feel just right. ]

[ there's a brightness in qi fang's eyes that can only be called hope.

eventually he leans down, fitting himself around reki's chest to rest his cheek on a shoulder, curl around him close. ]

You're on, [ reki says, and the little shiver of excitement that moves through him is no secret between them when they're this close. there's so many other things he wants to say, especially right now, when his brain is so nice and open and this place they've made for themselves feels so safe and eternal, but he decides against it. maybe some other time, when they're not both being total space cadets.

instead, he rubs off the sand on his palm with his shirt and flicks the rest away so he can stroke through qi fang's hair. ]

I like when you lay on me like this. [ which makes him recall, with a soft giggle: ] Y'know sometimes when you're sleeping, you roll over and crush the shit outta me and it's like my favorite thing in the world for some reason.

[ qi fang blinks a couple of times, so much so that reki might be able to feel the flutter of his lashes. ]

Do I? Honestly didn't think I was much of a cuddler... It's probably you. You gave me the cuddle cooties.

[ he curls his arms around reki a little tighter. ]

Besides who could say no to holding a body that feels this good?

Yeah... No. This's all you.

[ which is fine. it took him, what? less than 48 hours to realize this is the best thing in the world. a lot happened in those two days that got them here. ]

And nobody's ever tried to cuddle me before, sooo...

[ he picks his head up briefly to blink up at reki, half-expecting the other boy to deliver the punchline. but it never comes, and he feels an odd combination of relief and indignation. ]

Their loss then. Sorry suckers missing out.

[ he curls back around reki, burying his nose back against his neck. ]

You give the best cuddles.

[ reki huffs a little laugh and welcomes him back in, wrapping his arms around qi fang tightly this time. all this encouragement is pretty undeniable. ]

Like, I probably would've punched anyone who tried, so nobody really missed out. You're just different from everyone else, like it's always just felt right with you and...

[ man does he sound stoned af. he bashfully toys with qi fang's hair a little. ]

I'm stupid as hell right now, huh?

[tongxue]

[ if reki's stoned then qi fang's right there along with him, grinning wide against warm skin and burying a few loud snickers there. ]

Maybe. But I like it.

[ mind and body weightless. tongue loose. this is the life. ]

[ reki spiderwalks his fingers down a little and pinches his cheek playfully. steals his line from earlier, too, to add a little spice to this grave betrayal: ]

[ a pinch for a pinch — only reki's hip is all qi fang can reach at the moment. ]

Brat... don't use my lines, I only got so many.

[rekd]

[ that's not the same tier of pinch at all! reki squirms beneath him, grumbling—too lightly to be taken seriously, even in the sharpest of mental states. ]

Bullshit, you got a line for everything.

[tongxue]

[ jury's out so the judge makes the call: the pinch is fair. pound sand, reki! ]

You sound mad. They're all for you, baby, you should be flattered.

[ what else is new with this asshole. he's just lucky reki's over the fucking moon for him. ]

[ this is moaned, of course, in the most theatrical fashion possible. ]

Torture's subjective, isn't it?

[ for instance, some people might not like getting cold hands stuffed under their hoodie and pressed up against their lower back. but are any of those people here? (maybe) ]

[ reki's far too small and tropical to be able to handle any kind of cold at all. best hold on, because he's arcing away from those hands involuntarily and rolling this whole operation right over. now qi fang can have sand in his hair. ]

What did I say about being nice!

[ but reki, how can you be mad when qi fang is laughing as heartily as he is, head tossed back (into the sand, gross) and eyes squeezed shut so tight tears almost leak out. his hands remain on reki's skin, warming up by the second. ]

Okay okay..! I'll be nice... from now on. Probably.

[rekd]

[ maybe reki can't be mad, but he has no issue taking a little bite out of qi fang's chin. ]

S'why we can't have nice things.

[tongxue]

[ the bite just gets a little kaugh out of qi fang. ]

What're you talking about? I got the nicest thing right here.

[ yeah, reki's getting squeezed. ]

[ see, that's much better. this is all he ever asked for.

he's reki, though, so of course he giggles and demands: ]

[ reki bumps their noses and narrows his eyes. ]

[ yeah his hold is even looser now because he can't stop snickering. ]
