[ by the time reki's gotten to his seat in homeroom, it feels like the night before was all just some sort of hazy, surreal dream. a lot's happened since then; for one, his arm is bandaged all the way up to the elbow, compliments of a gnarly gash he got bailing straight into a cluster of jagged rocks, he's probably killed off half the brain cells he's got left skidding on his face, and the unfathomable weight of last night's loss is heavy on his mind. kinda hard to think about anything else when he can still hear his skateboard crackling beneath the flames. fuckin' sucks, man.

it takes awhile for him to zone back into reality. really, it's less of a zone and more of a jolt, when the gaggle of jeering students crowding around him start to dissipate and he notices qi fang with a start. fuck, he forgot all about those english notes. even worse, qi fang looks so good, fresh-faced and distractingly handsome. reki, on the other hand, looks like he stayed up til the early hours of the morning getting stitched up in the ER and barely slid into class in time for the bell in yesterday's wrinkled clothes. embarrassing.

whatever. he has until lunch to think up a good excuse for why he can't return those notes yet. instead, of course, he sleeps straight through all of his classes and sleep-walks up the stairs to the roof, flopping into his usual spot against the fence, debating whether or not he even wants to be awake to eat. a nap in the sun sounds a lot better, so he pulls his hoodie up and leans his head back against the chain links, letting his eyes drift shut slowly. ]

[ he just has to deal with this tree first. which is fine, just gotta tilt the snapback south to let it know he means business and get a running start and that's the first obstacle cleared. it's a much more tentative operation, clearing the gap between the window and the tree and landing in qi fang's room without making a whole bunch of sound, but he's determined, dammit.

soon enough, qi fang will have him in all his bark-sprinkled glory, arms outstretched and grin bright enough to give up the gig for them both. ]

[ qi fang had been watching reki's ascent, an amused and fond smile tickling his lips the entire time, but it isn't until reki is right there within reach that his smile spreads out into a full-fledged grin. reki wouldn't even make it a whole leg into the room yet before qi fang is crowding in on his space, hands flying up to grasp either side of his face. ]

Hey there, Romeo.

[ then he's crushing their lips together, wasting no time in making up for those four, reki-less days. ]

[ they're of the same mind on that one. why waste any time at all tangling back up like they're meant to be, reki pulling in qi fang's hair already to push this kiss deeper, his other hand pressed into the small of qi fang's back to turn their embrace into a crush. right here is as good a place as any because it's where qi fang is, who tastes even better than he remembers, so good that he's already licking into his mouth for more.

eventually, he guesses, they should breathe, but all reki really wants to do when they're so unfortunately broken apart is whisper over and over: ] I missed you.

Shit, I missed you too, [ he'll try to sneak in whenever reki himself takes a breath, but it's broken up by smaller kisses he can't help but drop over every inch of reki's skin he can reach.

it's messy work, dragging reki from the window to the bed, but qi fang manages it somehow without making much noise. he's fortunate his dad's study is on the other side of the house, downstairs, but even then he's not ready to take any chances.

once they're both settled on the bed his hands start roaming all over reki, heart pounding with excitement and relief. ]

Fuck, life's so boring without you.

And fucking miserable, [ reki moans, hands catching in his clothes and crowding around his waist to pull him closer. the thought of having any space between them right now is terrifying. the only way he's going anywhere is attached, but that works out. they tumble on to the bed together and he's happy as he can ever remember being. ]

Almost forgot how good you taste.

[ easy enough to rectify that, now that he's going to town on qi fang's throat. it's infuriating that all the marks he left there are fading now, but he'll fix them, suckling hard as he drifts qi fang's shirt up his chest and refusing to relent until he absolutely has to. ]

[ not that it's much of a reprimand when qi fang can barely keep his grin to himself, or it's spoken between a kiss and a breathless laugh. there goes his shirt, it was stupid and dared to be in the way anyway. he should really work on reki's to make things even but his hands are too busy hungrily groping palmfuls of ass, crushing their hips together like he's on some kind of rut. ]
